The Parent Files, I Have No Idea What I’m Doing

I am obviously not a socialite, celebrity or even anyone who is in pictures beyond my own camera roll. However, Manila and all its magic allowed me to have the freaking fantastic opportunity to be a part of The Parent Files. I approached the interview as I do my parenting; I have no idea what I’m actually doing but I try and do it with love and laughter.

The cozy set.
It was a surreal opportunity to receive an email from Cat Juan inviting me to be a part of this web series, The Parenting Files, filmed by  IndustreeTv and The Filarts and produced by Cat Juan. Anything Cat and Patty are a part of will be as lovely and positive as they are. To sum up what The Parenting Files is all about, “tackling parenting and beyond from varied perspectives.”The episode I got to be a part of was all about pregnancy and parenting within the first year. It was so perfect considering my youngest just hit his one year mark in December. With an email and some questions to ponder, and not really knowing what I was going to be doing, I happily obliged. I thought about the topics for quite a few weeks. I am a pretty open person so I actually had to prep myself not to over share or be too crude. Ha! We will see if that is actually the case. I may have said vagina twenty times. I kid, but seriously.

It was surreal to see all the cameras.
Below is a photo story of a nobody and their (in)experience at being in front of the camera.

Naturally I stuffed my face on the way.
It was so funny to bring clothing changes.
Costume change! It was actually nice to have someone tell me what to wear.
The production team was so super patient and kind with my clueless shenanigans.
Patty Filart is so kind which was super helpful in calming my nerves. I talk a lot but even more so when I am nervous.
Again, such a surreal moment to see my face on screen. It is even more strange to hear my voice.

This seems about right.

I love being a mom and am so grateful I was able to share some insights with so many other power house women.

The Parent Files will be on Saturdays at 9 am. Hope you tune in.

You are a beautiful mother Amber! Glad you are a part of that series. Your perspective of i-have-no-idea-on-how-to-be-a-mother will surely help Filipino moms in more ways that you can imagine. Keep it up! By the way, you register well on screen.
