About

Hello new friends! I am Amber and I am the momma of A Momma Abroad. Our family moved to Manila in 2009 and have been blessed to call it home. Even though we aren’t Filipino I consider our family FilAm. This is all we have known as a family and I am so grateful. My husband works in the BPO industry and I am the lead adventurer. We love the warm temperature and culture. I like to focus onΒ positivity because I spent too many years focusing on the negative. You will always find what you are looking for. It is a journey but I can help you. Don’t worry, I will find the adventures and treasures. All you have to do is keep reading. Cheers to a new outlook and friendship.Β IMG_3907 9.53.30 PM.jpg

  1. What a beautiful family blog, Amber! I’m reading through a few posts and feel I missed seeing so much of the Philippines. Great inspiration to pay another visit and follow in your family’s footsteps a little!

Perhaps similar to you in PH. Sacrificed my career in NZ just to be with the family etc. Pls try to read my earlier post so you may know more, thanks!

Hi Amber, my husband and I really enjoyed your talk at the ALIG General Meeting this week (we were sitting right up front!) We just arrived in Manila on September 3 and will be here for at least 2 years (my job). We have a 4 year old and a 6 year old, both boys, so everything you said was so relevant to us. I am looking forward to following your blog (and teaching my husband to, since he will be our “Domestic Engineer” while we are here).

Hi Amber! Greetings from the USA. I came across your blog and fell in love with it. My family left the Philippines almost 2 decades ago and haven’t visited for about 11 years now. Now that I have a family of my own, I wish to visit the Philippines more often. I’m glad you love it there πŸ™‚ Keep the posts coming! XO.

Hi Amber! I have to say, your blog is awesome. I think i’ve read every single post you’ve written and salivated at your pics, food, locations, colors, and just life! I am very curious at what life is like in the Philippines. I have filipino friends here in the bay area in California and have been itching to visit this country for so long. Thank you for the foodie spots, i will definitely add them to my list!
