Good bye balikbayan box full of baby items, hello The Parenting Emporium. Any expats out there know what I am talking about? That six month - one year wait until your home leave to stock up on all things baby! I wish I had known about the Parenting Emporium, I can't let myself think about the pounds we lugged back from the States only to find all of it could be found locally. That is why I am imparting this wisdom on you. The co-founders Beng and Maricel are a force for good! They originally started as breastfeeding advocates importing breast pumps, then providing classes. They saw a needed community and that is how the Parenting Emporium was born. They now offer classes and workshops of all kind, import products from around the world, carry local brands and produce tv shows to aid parents during these early years. Their philosophy: Parenting is a legacy.

One of the reasons I started blogging was to help other foreigners transition to Manila life. My goal is to go out and find places, experiences or hard to find items and bring them back to my community. It is so convenient to know there is a place in Manila that exists like this. You would not believe how hard it was for me to find nipple cream here (that's right, I wrote nipple cream on my blog.)

We love our boys jammies from Lollipops Clothing, imported from India. MiFold is a new item in the Manila market. It is the most compact booster seat and exceeds all US safety regulations.

We were lucky enough to attend a workshop with Magformers PH during our visit to the Parenting Emporium. I am a HUGE fan of Magformers. They are my boys' top choice for toys, and mine too. Last year I did a whole Motherhood campaign and talked about why. You can read those posts here. During the workshop we learned three new games to play with our Magformers: Creationary (pictionary but with Magformers), Tallest Tower and Race To Build (race to build the given structure). My little guy and I won for tallest tower. Whoot Whoot!
