Broken Foot Diaries Part 2: Tidy House, Tidy Mind With Happy Helpers

I am a full on ragey mom grump when my house is cluttered and in a state of disarray. One of the gifts of having a broken foot has been a lot of down time and being cooped up at home, I really have enjoyed it. But I’ve also had to loosen the grip and and be more flexible with the lack of desired tidy levels I usually have, especially since Chanda was away on her much deserved holiday. It’s been good practice for me to surrender and just accept life (and home mess) as it is.

Lucky for me, the reason I was able to keep some amount of chill is because of a secret weapon called, Happy Helpers.

What I Appreciated Most About Happy Helpers:

  • Self Initiated and organized. didn’t have to tell anyone what to do, they just did it! It’s been tiring telling people what to do, where to put things etc etc. What a relief to just have it the F done!

  • Dishes! Gaaaah! No back spasm from leaning over the sink on one leg to wash dishes.

  • Deep clean. They didn’t just do an aesthetic or surface clean, they pretty much gave my house a Pap smear and got all up in the book and crannies.

  • I feel so helpless much of the time but a clean house gives me peace. I’m a nicer person when my house is clean.

there is nothing more glorious than empty sink because all the dishes have been washed and cleaned! Hallelujah!

One of the biggest #perksofpinas is witnessing the goodness of humanity. I believe that bayanihan still exists, some of the most spirited efforts I’ve seen is Filipinos supporting their country(wo)men through social enterprises. Happy Helpers is one such social enterprise, they are a company founded and fueled by mothers supporting mothers. The two women who founded the company are mothers themselves and started the company to help other nanays make additional income. Not only do they make additional income but they keep their profesional skills forever. 💛 I am forever better because I’ve lived here, forever grateful. Support these nanays by having a deep clean or special furniture pieces treated, subscription cleaning or deep cleaning - they do a fabulous job and Happy Helpers has incredible customer service and professionalism.
