Pilipino Library: Magkulay Tayo

Magandang umaga! We’re visiting the US for the remainder of July but I still want to share some fun posts I have ready to go. As you know, I’m partial to children’s books and have a number of fun titles to share with high from our recent visit to Adarna House Bookstore so stayed tuned!

Today our Pilipino Library featured a color book for the littlest of artist and readers. Magkulay Tayo, is simple and straight forward while still exposing children to language, colors and fine motor skills through coloring!

Each page features a different vocabulary word with its corresponding picture. I am partial to the large pictures which are perfect for tiny hands that are working on grasping skills and control over crayons.

As with other foundational books, Magkulay Tayo builds upon the skills taught in the previous books. The levels range from 1-5 which each book developing more vocabulary. The pictures also progress as they become more detailed.

It makes me happy to see an educational coloring book accessible for those learning the Filipino language. I hope the mother tongue never stops being taught and Magkulay Tayo is a simple starting point.

Happy coloring,

Amber
