Pilipino Library: Halu Halo Board Book
I adore this weeks Pilipino Library feature, Halu Halo. Halu Halo is a colorful board book designed perfectly for the earliest literacy skills; admiring colors, flipping pages and holding a book! The bright colors and design of Halu Halo are so ganda I would love to have them as framed art pieces. More than pretty pictures Halu Halo tells a story of one of the most famous Pinoy delicacies.

Imagine sweet chubby fingers turning the pages of this delightfully simple board book and with each page comes a new layer of the distinctly Filipino dessert. Cut outs on the pages add for a playful and experimental element which is perfect for the littlest of readers. Also, would this not make the best pasalubong ever for balikbayans or even a welcome baby gift.
I am so grateful to have found cultural lessons and experiences through children's books. If you're feeling a bit disengaged with Manila I suggest picking up a few books to tie your heart here.
