Slowcation at Landrina Escape Morong, Bataan

When I travel I’m a pack-rat-itinerary traveler. I try and squeeze as much as I can into one go making the days really really full. Often this means hopping to different accommodations each night, going hard from morning til night and also woofing down as many different foods as possible. However, our recent getaway was the complete opposite and I’m officially into the slow-cation. With a broken foot there wasn’t much I could do so we left the kids at home with #ChandaPoppins for the weekend and reveled in relaxation at Landrina Escape in Morong, Bataan

The Genius Is In The Details|

At Landrina there is no detail forgotten and no piece placee or created without intention. I love good design and Landrina is SCREAMING, well, it’s more of an ever-present whisper that cradles you in her extreme comfort, with good design and attention to detail. And it isn’t just good design, it’s the intention for how to make the guest feel while they’re staying at Landrina: ultimate relaxation. I swear to you that I cannot remember the last time I visited a home, here in the Philippines or abroad, that was this immaculate and well created.

Supreme Relaxation|

Everything about this weekender was supreme relaxation. I actually wonder if I’ve ever relaxed so comfortably and so content in my whole life. I can’t remember a time when I laid in bed listening to the birds chirp, soaking in the flooding light and feeling no need to move - just be. Also, I have never in my life watched 4 movies in 24 hours but you bet your butt I did this trip - I have a broken foot in 5 places, so don’t judge too harshly. (Ok, I may have done this right after I had my first baby but not since then!) It felt so good to have no plans, no agenda, nothing being asked of me. I got to be still. Interesting, as I reflect back on this slow-cation it was so good I can feel the affects and calmness right now while I type this. How’s that for a trip? It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

I have an obsession with white walls and natural light, so my preferences go hand in hand with Landrina

Landrina Escape bungalows were designed with the intention of creating an ideal setting for enjoyment. The main area of the bungalow is set up for gathering. A large couch, arm chairs, kitchen table, book shelves, speaker and ample walking space all nest in the middle of the home. Did you notice what was missing? A TV. That’s right, there is no TV in the gathering area because the intention is to create memories and spend time together.

*You might be thinking, “So Amber, how did you watch 4 movies this weekend?” The owners know whats good and put large TV’s in each bedroom and had them loaded with movies. My husband and I also played numerous games, visited a pawikan conservatory, cooked meals together, read and spent time outside.

Kitchen Details|

If a home manages to woo you with their kitchen and bathroom then they have really out done themselves. The table is inviting to large groups and the open kitchen creates more gathering space. The kitchen is detailed with marble backsplash and counter tops, which are high class on display. And to top it all off, the whole space has specialty cabinetry all filled with the same glass sets. Get this, each cabinet is also outfitted with back lighting. WHUT.

While this kitchen is very pretty and ‘Instagram Worthy’, it sets itself apart because it actually functions. We live in a world where aesthetic is often surface deep, all of Landrina is beautiful but more importantly, purposeful.

We have stayed in our fair share of airbnb’s and home rentals in the philippines and this is the first home that had a water dispenser with provided filtered water and a mosquito zapper. the genius is in the details!

Bedroom Magic|

On each side of the gathering nest in the middle of the villa are two large inviting bedrooms with large sliding doors which open to the private outdoor area of each villa. I’m not sure a better view can be woken up to. Landrina has landscaped the property for each villa to have a grass lot and private pool. The tall grass creates a natural divide for privacy. Not only do the bedrooms have a window to the natural beauty but a refuge is created within the walls as well. Black out curtains to sleep late if you’d like, a desk to spend time creating or writing, a TV to binge watch movies (once a decade :) and all of this under high ceilings to create an expansive feeling.

one word: sconces. That’s right, I said it. i have not seen beautiful sconces in … maybe… ever? and here they are at Landrina escape in morong, bataan.

A WORD ON BATHROOMS|

The bathroom is often an overlooked and uncared space in a home BUT the bathroom at Landrina was a treat. It may sound silly but I actually feel that the bathroom at Landrina is one of the elements that secures the ‘luxe’ title. They have toilets for him and her - that’s right! You can both comfortably use the toilet at the same time - different locations. The shower is huge and open with natural light pouring in and the closet is very much a walk in closet, or a ‘roll in closet’ if you’re me.

Beach, Pool, Grass

The interiors of Landrina Escape are surrounded by a backdrop of blue skies, wavy beaches and a private pool. There isn’t much need to leave Landrina, everything is right where you.
