News Flash: My husband and I are big board game nerds!

Full Disclosure: He is a much larger board game nerd than I am. :) I will try my best to do the board game community justice with this post but I assume it wall fall short. All you need to know is that, in Manila you will always find what you’re looking for.

A few years ago my husband got super into board games. No, not Monopoly and any ‘tabletop gamer’ will scoff at you if you say you play board games and mention Monopoly. I am talking intense board games that require painting your own pieces, reading lore and purging your savings fund to keep up with all the indy games. I am mostly kidding, but not really. I digress, this is all to say that Manila really does have it all and that includes niche board games, board game suppliers and even gaming tournaments.

The Gaming Library|

A handful of evenings per week are spent with us playing some type of game and our date nights have also been known to include nerding out over a campaign game at a food court, my favorite is The Corner Market at Podium mall. On the occasion we forget a game we will stop by a Gaming Library as they have a few branches in BGC, Makati and Shang EDSA. The Gaming Library has games on display and a set up that invites you to play before you buy. I appreciate this concept a lot because board games aren’t cheap.

We stumbled into the newest branch of Gaming Library in BGC and I wanted to share in case you are looking for a new hobby or place to hang out. Gaming Library is super organized and all games are easily on display with price as well. You can even visit with kids as there is a kids section. And of course my favorite section is the sale section. I heard you can also consign your games through Gaming Library but not sure of the process.

You know you have reached a whole new level of geek when you get kilig over pretty dice sets. Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, they are 680 php! Mahal talaga but that is what makes this market so niche. Another geek level unlocked: sleeve protectors for cards.

Ah Manila, you never cease to amaze and you really are a treasure trove. So if you too have a nerdy hobby, are looking to take one up or even join a gaming community you can start at the Gaming Library. Happy Gaming!
